An absolutely delicious way to eat the queen of leafy greens!
Ingredients
1 onion, any color, diced
1 clove garlic, thinly sliced
1/2 cup golden raisins, currants, gooseberries, or any other small, sweet fruit
1 large bunch Swiss chard (approx. 8 leaves), stems removed and diced
2 T maple syrup or honey
2 T apple cider vinegar
2-3 T olive oil or butter
Heat olive oil or butter in skillet over medium high heat. Add onion and chard stems and sauté until softened, about 8-10 minutes. Add garlic and cook for a minute or two. Add raisins or other fruit and sauté for another minute or two. Add maple syrup/honey and vinegar, stir to combine. Roughly chop the chard leaves, then add them to the pan and cover tightly. Turn off the heat and let the leaves steam in the pan for about 5 minutes. Stir to combine all the flavors, then serve.
